All his films have earned huge money in India and around the globe, also drawing praise from critics alike. So what makes the director do all the right things at the right time? That probably makes the audience waiting for more. Hirani has always cast a huge male star in all his films and hasn't ventured out with newcomers. He also has a fixed team for all his movies, always co-producing his flicks with Vidhu Vinod Chopra and co-writing his scripts with Abhijat Joshi. He also casts a few actors such as Anushka Sharma and Boman Irani repeatedly in his movies, and always has his qwirky humour coupled with witty dialogues, and weird resonating characters fixed up in his films.

Considering the above facts, one can say that Rajkumar Hirani has his base all set up, and he creates new stories with an already solid foundation. Hirani can be described as a good director or maybe even a good writer, but not a good filmmaker. Not yet. No doubt, all his films have conveyed social messages brilliantly, portrayed fantastic performances by the actors, and have been complete packages, but the very fact that he doesn't venture out to new kinds of films doesn't prove his versatility.

Maybe he is versatile, but until and unless he proves it with his work, it can't be stated. He can be more or less compared to a Woody Allen or even a Christopher Nolan at times, but he still hasn't reached the height of Spielberg.
