Cool beans. Thanks for sharing this program. I have an old iFit treadmill that still works great. With this program, I can custom tailor my workout in junction with my heart rate monitor, without hitting them damn buttons. No registration required, FREE! In case above link stops working, try this version. A nag screen will appear after 30 days telling you to register. You can still use it after 30 days, but you have to wait for the nag screen to timeout. This version lets you mix music into your workouts and allows you export a mp3 or wave file.
The controls are nicer too. Tagged on: i2workout , ifit , proform treadmills. You can set the treadmill to your desired speed, but every time the incline changes, the speed goes back to 5, requiring you to manually go back to the other speed each time -- very annoying for the user.
It is possible to construct the workout program in such a way that the change the user makes stays the same in other words, speed stays at 6 mph instead of going back to 5 mph every time there is a new incline until the program makes the next speed change after the 10 minute stretch. The way this program is constructed if the user decides to go to 6 mph at minute 16, at minute 17 and every minute thereafter the treadmill will go back to 5 mph.
The way to construct the program so that it would stay at 6 mph until the next speed change at 26 minutes would be as follows:. From the user's perspective both workouts will be identical unless he manually changes the speed. The problem is your program will see such a speed 25 mph and flag it as an error. A potential problem with this could be users might inadvertently select a speed or incline that their machine doesn't support, but I figure it's up to the user to know his machine's limitations.
Another option would be to simply check for a speed equal to 25, something like:. You could also implement a keyword the user could put in instead of 25, but that would not be as simple a fix. I use the 'same' keyword for this function in my online programmer. Oh no! Post 2 of 9 views. I'm looking forward to a reply on this as well. I just started my winter prep by dropping cash on a Costco treadmill. I held back on ordering the ifit features though to see how it goes. Post 3 of 9 views. Post 4 of 9 views.
I have a NordicTrack treadmill and it has the iFit feature. I have not used all the features on it, but here is what I can say so far. Pros: Track workouts on computer manual and set workouts. Recently I traveled to a race that I was unable to see the course ahead of time. So I downloaded the run course and ran it a week prior to the race.
It was cool to feel the elevation changes without having to be there. I haven't used the preset workouts because G. Michael's doesn't do it for me. I suppose if I was looking to get in shape this would be a cool feature too.
Very easy to switch from preset workouts to manual workouts and the iFit system still tracks your progress. Kind of like my Polar HRM but with speed and distance. Cons: Occasionally the WiFi won't pick up. May be because my modem is on the 3rd floor and treadmill is in the basement. Other than the mapping feature I suppose you could do all the features without the iFit system. Every time I turn the WiFi system on, annoying music comes on drives me nuts. Hope this helps.
