It is the area that has Spoiler the trapdoor to the Midden. Some times I have trouble finding her aswell. As said above, she's usually in the Hall of Countenance as most teachers are , first bedroom to your right. And you don't you believe a word of it. She's the one who has a problem with me!

The trigger for the bug seems to be the following events: Talk to Faralda and be asked to perform the spell Dragon attacks Winterhold and is killed Return to College entrance to perform spell Faralda has disappeared Basically you want to avoid having points 1 and 2 run in that order - preferably the reverse.
